Fresh Easy Avocado Pomegranate Salsa

Enjoy this fresh and fast avocado and pomegranate salsa. Creamy, zesty, and flavorful, it has many nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and E. It is a perfect make-ahead appetizer or a side dish to your main course for any occasion.

Equipment

  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Large bowl for mixing
  • 1 Bowl for serving
  • 1 Mixing spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Hass Avocado Hass works best others can be used
  • ½ Cup Pomegranate save small amount for garnish
  • ½ Cup Red onion
  • 1 Lg Lime
  • ½ Cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 3 Cloves Fresh garlic
  • 1 Hot sauce Tabasco or Crystal works the best. Use your favorite to taste

Spices

  • 1 Kosher Salt
  • 1 Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Wash all ingredents
  • Cut and seed pomegranate making sure all white membranes are removed. Cut avocados into chunks
  • Dice tomatoes, cilantro, onion’s and finely chop the fresh garlic
  • Juice lime more juice can be used for your taste

Combine

  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and toss well. Salt, pepper, and hot sauce can be adjusted to taste.
    The longer it sits in the fridge the better it gets!

Storage

  • Press plastic wrap or Press n seal directly on top of the mixture pressing down slightly onto the avocado mixture. This will help the mixture from turning brown, then put another piece over the entire bowl creating a double seal.
  • The salsa will last 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Mine never last that long!

Notes

Cilantro can be substituted with Italian flat leaf parsley or omited completely. Using Cilantro gives it a true tropical flavor
Pomegranate arils can be used if fresh are not available or omitted completely.
Cilantro is essential to authentic Mexican flavor. If you do not like Cilantro, it can be replaced with flat-leaf parsley (Italian Parsley)
Pomegranate adds a healthy and festive look while adding vitamin C, folate.
